Patient Safety Manager jobs in Pomona, CA

Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Patient Safety Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Key Responsibilities

    • Monitor and discuss safety programs and efforts with on-site subcontractors and ASG employees, ensuring safety is part of our culture and that all new hires have proper safety documents and information
    • Conduct documented safety and health inspections no less than twice per month, coordinating compliance reports with ASG insurance company
    • Coordinate with Project Supervision so that necessary protective equipment and safety materials are utilized, adequate first aid materials are available and safety documents are posted on-site
    • Investigate all injuries and review all accident reports, coordinating corrective measures with ASG employees and logging injuries/illnesses for OSHA purposes
    • Minimize construction hazards and enforce safety policies utilizing the company’s disciplinary policy
    • Conduct/coordinate Project Safety "Toolbox" meetings with all ASG employees on a weekly basis
    • Record and forward copies of all safety related meetings, programs, safety pre-plans, inspections, correspondence, directives, citations, etc. to the Division Safety Director for tracking

    Skills & Qualifications

    • 8 years experience managing safety efforts on large scale projects
    • ASP, CHST, CSP
    • OSHA 500 (OPTIONAL)
    • Rail to Rail experience is a plus
    • Ability to manage/administer safety orientations, oversee substance abuse programs, investigate/report on injuries/illnesses/near misses and perform other various safety functions on-site
    • Ability to work with all construction groups- management, owners, trades and subcontractors
    • Excellent communication, organizational, decision-making and problem solving skills
    • Nationwide travel (OPTIONAL)
