Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. New Mexico Site Safety and Health Officer
Burgos Group is seeking a Safety Manager for a Federal Government Project located at Los Alamos NM and other Projects in NM . Overnight Travel Required up to 100% of time, Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Site Safety Manager must have five (5) years of continuous general industry safety experience in supervising/managing general construction. Must be able to pass a Federal background check.
The Safety Manager must be familiar with safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures and standards applicable to agency instructions, directives and operation manuals, OSHA, federal safety and occupational health standards, ANSI, NFPA and other consensus standards. Must be able to plan, organize, direct, operate, inspect and/or evaluate a safety and occupational health program for a construction safety program. The Safety Manager must be able to perform mishap investigations, prepare reports of circumstances, maintain records and evaluate mishap data for trends and patterns and be able to communicate safety requirements to all levels of personnel to meet program goals and objectives, implement procedures and practices, and assist supervisors and employees in complying with safety and health standards. The Safety Manager will direct all phases of the safety program from inception through completion.
