Patient Safety Manager manages a staff responsible for developing and implementing patient safety programs. Supervises the investigation of errors and then plans for resolution of all safety related incidents, including those involving employees, visitors, patients, and situations posing a threat to the hospital's buildings and equipment. Being a Patient Safety Manager maintains records of patient-related errors and evaluates this information in order to identify the cause of the error. Collects, reviews, and analyzes information from the facility's safety programs to identify corrective action and programs as necessary. Additionally, Patient Safety Manager recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Designs and presents training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Ensures compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Responsible for meeting safety and compliance goals for WIT Trucking
Responsible for the oversight, support, management and administration of the transportation safety and compliance programs
Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team to maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance and strive to further safety goals related to transportation
Effectively, efficiently, and proactively manage internal DOT compliance processes, thereby eliminating any and all failures to comply with local, state and federal regulations. • Work effectively with all 3rd Party services utilized for safety and compliance programs. •
Required to assist in the development of driver training materials as assigned or necessary. • Coordinate, schedule, conduct and document driver training and coaching as required. • Identify and contribute to company process, policy or program change
Assist and ensure proper execution and training of all company commercial transportation programs
Oversee and ensure proper adherence to all internal company standards, policies, and procedures such as driver work rules and qualification files, MVR adjudication, criminal background adjudication, pre-hire road testing, post-accident drug & alcohol testing, etc. •
Oversee WIT TRUCKING drug & alcohol testing program. • Ensure proper hours of service (HOS) data management through use of electronic onboard recording system as necessitated by Company policy, as is necessary, or as directed. • Communicate and collaborate with members of the organization in person, via telephone and through use of email correspondence
