Patient Safety Specialist assists in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. Gathers data detailing patient-related errors and conducts analysis for management detailing the cause of the error. Being a Patient Safety Specialist recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Gives presentations and training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Additionally, Patient Safety Specialist tests patient-safety knowledge of employees and recommends changes to training programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     General Outline of Responsibilities
    1. Assist Safety Director with various functions as requested, including, but not limited to:
      1. Compliance reporting and document management
      2. Licensing & registration for all fleet vehicles and CMV’s
      3. Completes IC Agreement updates & renewals
      4. Record keeping of all Driving School certificates and reporting
      5. Coordinate Independent Contractor rentals
      6. Assist with employee on-boarding and training programs
      7. Update and maintain documents and databases
    2. Track and update driver, equipment & training expirations and maintain any associated files or databases. 
    3. Assist HR Director with various functions as requested, including, but not limited to:
      1. Distribution of benefit information
      2. Aid with company events, as needed
      3. Liaison for managers and employees
    4. Maintains and updates documentation as necessary and provides to managers upon request (orientation/onboarding, permit books, handbooks, PTO request forms, etc.)
    5. Assists in general administrative functions, as requested or needed
