    Ergon Terminaling, Inc. is currently recruiting for a Regional Safety Specialist that will be assigned to the South region.

    Ergon is a family-owned oil and gas company based in the Flowood, MS area with facilities across the US. Ergon Terminaling, Inc. facilities handle, store, and distribute bulk liquid fuels, petro chemicals, asphalt, and crude oil. Our facilities vary in size up to 2,000,000 barrels of storage and are strategically located to serve our customers as well as our own in-house needs.

    This position reports to the Regional Manager - South of Ergon Terminaling and must reside with the assigned region and must office at the corporate office in Flowood or at one of the terminals. The Regional Safety Specialist will provide overall safety leadership, professional knowledge, and expertise for the Ergon Terminaling occupational and process safety program for the facilities in their region. The position will be responsible for developing innovative strategies to ensure operational excellence with regarding corporate standards and compliance to applicable regulations.

    Regional Safety Specialist Responsibilities:

    • Lead operational excellence programs and initiatives for the region including but not limited to
      occupational safety and process safety.
    • Lead ETI safety audit team (schedule audits, lead quarterly calls, prepare reports, track action
      items, lead audits).
    • Work with corporate maintenance and project engineers to promote project safety.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain ETI safety guidelines, policies, processes, and procedures for
      all operating facilities in the region (PSM, RMP, and non-regulated).
    • Maintain close working relationship with corporate operational excellence leaders to assure that
      programs meet the intended requirements and promote the One Ergon philosophy.
    • Develop and track appropriate safety KPl's {leading and lagging metrics) and communicate on a
      regular basis to management teams.
    • Oversee incident management, incident investigations, ensure correct categorization of actual
      and potential risks, and share lessons learned for the assigned region.
    • Organize and lead teams for safety assessments and coordinate PSM/RMP compliance audits (if
      needed).
    • Coordinate risk management activities such as PHAs and LOPAs (as needed).
    • Provide support for Management of Change (MOC) program and perform Pre-Startup Safety
      Reviews (PSSR's) as necessary.
    • Coordinate Contractor Management program including administrating IS Networld.
    • Provide general environmental program task support including coordinating with corporate environmental team to ensure environmental compliance tasks are completed.
    • Support ETl's focus to develop a positive safety culture and function within Ergon core values.
      1111 Promote, track and follow up on near miss items with corrective actions.
    • Oversees and assists in the development of job hazard analysis, lockout procedures, and
      confined space entry.
    • Serve as a technical advisor and provide training and guidance to terminal operators.
    • Perform at least monthly visits to terminaling facilities in the region.
    • Participate in monthly staff calls and share actionable items and activities.
    • Participate in Corporate EHS training activities and communicate applicable information to each facility in the region.
    • Implement applicable best management practices to proactively identify and mitigate hazards. Update and/or standardize the visitor/contractor orientation safety videos at the facilities. Provide monthly EHS reports to the Vice President prior to the 10th day of the month for the preceding month and the annual business meeting.
    • Attend conferences and training as needed to enhance knowledge of environmental, health,
      safety, security, and process safety requirements and industrial practices.
    • Strive to develop good working relationships with all co-workers, customers, and associates.
    • Serve as incident management coordinator for the Odyssey program.
    • Lead efforts to complete yearly safety goals within the region.
    • Up to 50% travel.
    • Take on additional duties and projects as directed by management.

    Regional Safety Specialist Requirements:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a Bachelor's degree being preferred.
    • Five years of safety leadership experience and five years of experience in terminaling/refinery/chemical operations or other relevant field.
    • Must be an active of industry safety organizations.
    • High levels of Trust, Humility, Character, Integrity, Resolve, and Respect
    • Requires a self-motivated person that pays attention to details with excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Have a passion and drive for safety and continuous improvement.
    • Working knowledge of the US Coast Guard, DOT, OHS, EPA and OSHA Regulations.
    • Working knowledge of the CCPS RBPS, OSHA PSM and/or EPA RMP standards.
    • Working knowledge of environmental regulations for terminal facilities.
    • Ability to lead auditing safety programs.
    • Experience in leading incident investigations and sharing lessons learned.
    • Working knowledge of Process Safety Information documentation.
    • Ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with facility personnel. Provide a positive role model by performing tasks in line with Ergon's Core Values.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities to achieve safety goals.
    • Ability to effectively communicate safety status, progress, and goals to Senior Management.
    • Ability to travel to Corporate office, terminals, and conferences.
