    Volt is immediately hiring for a Safety Specialist in Franklin, WI.

    As a Safety Specialist you will:
    • Plan, direct, and implement organizational safety activities to promote health and safety for all field service employees. You will drive continuous improvement in workplace safety through program development and implementation, safety training and cultivating “safety culture” amongst all employees.
    • Maintain safe and healthful working conditions and recommend measures to reduce risk, prevent industrial accidents and mitigate health hazards.
    • Coordinate, develop, and conduct safety training activities for employees, temps, contractors and leadership.
    • Work with Human Resources Management to develop safety strategies and communicate to management and employees.
    • Plan, organize, direct, audit and control Company safety activities with the other Safety Specialist.
    • Assist with the ISO requirements as needed.
    • Investigate and respond to safety issues, conduct “Root Cause Analysis” and coordinate “Job Hazard Analysis” for service.
    • Prepare and review reports/metrics as part of the process of monitoring and communicating safety performance results.
    • Serve as a key member of the Emergency Response team.
    • Serves on the EHS Board.
    • Conduct safety orientation for newly hired field service technicians
    • Be a catalyst for field service safety performance.
    • Work with Human Resources and company physician to ensure proper execution of workers’ compensation programs.
    • Manage injury/illness claim life cycle in partnership with human resources to include temporary and return to work program.
    • Ensure safety program meets Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements and Company standards.
    • Back up the other Safety Specialist for related safety activities
    • Responsible for communication with agencies and successfully passing internal and external audits.
    • Visit service project at customer sites around the United States which would include about 30% travel.


    This is a full-time Direct Hire opportunity.

    The ideal candidate will have:
    • Education: Bachelors’ degree in Occupational Safety preferred OR 4 years safety related experience; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) a plus
    • Ability to drive a proactive safety culture.
    • Excellent communication and employee relations skills.
    • Ability to analyze and independently solve a variety of difficult situations and problems.
    • Effectively using time and resources to accomplish overall initiatives and program goals.
    • Working conditions in an office atmosphere with exposure to the plant/shop. Protective equipment (safety glasses, etc.) is required in shop areas. This position will walk the floor frequently throughout the day.
    • Be able to travel to client sites for safety checks on equipment installations/projects (up to 30% travel)

    Salary: $80,000- 90,000/year
    *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
