Patient Safety Specialist assists in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. Gathers data detailing patient-related errors and conducts analysis for management detailing the cause of the error. Being a Patient Safety Specialist recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Gives presentations and training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Additionally, Patient Safety Specialist tests patient-safety knowledge of employees and recommends changes to training programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Job Summary: Frequent travel (50% overnight) to various job and office locations throughout the assigned region to conduct:

    • Job-site safety inspections 
    • Assist Operations Director in managing local onsite Safety Representatives, and paperwork from General Contractors and our Sales Representatives
    • Train future onsite Safety Specialists to handle the daily onsite safety needed to run new construction projects
    • Claim investigations

    Candidate Qualifications:
    • Candidate MUST have ONE of the following: CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASP (Associate Safety Professional), or CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) - Required
    • Bachelor Degree in Safety or 3-5 years Safety experience - Required
    • Strong investigative and communication skills
    • Superb problem-solving skills
    • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
    • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA regulations

    Safety Specialists are a part of the Corporate Safety & Risk Department and report directly to the Safety Director. This position involves the Safety and Risk management of multiple office locations and crews working in the assigned region consisting of 15 to 40 million dollars in revenue annually.
