Patient Safety Specialist jobs in Queens Village, NY

Pay Rate: $40 - $48 per hour

Schedule: 35 hours per week

Description:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of a comprehensive patient safety program

• Coordinates and manages patient safety data collection and prepares statistical and/or other appropriate reports
• Serves as a resource to leadership and other health care setting staff on matters related to Patient Safety
• Participate in internal/external quality assurance/performance improvement (QA/PI) activities, programs, training and relevant health care events, as required

• Design or participate in research and/or special studies related to patient safety.

Qualifications:

1. Valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and two (2) years of clinical and/or administrative experience in coordinating and monitoring initiatives, activities, and programs related to patient safety, quality improvement, and related area(s), analyzing, managing, and reporting patient safety data and performing other functions related to patient safety in a hospital or health care setting; or

2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public or Hospital Administration or a related discipline and five (5) years of experience, as described in “1” above; or

3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and/or experience.
