Being a Patient Safety Specialist recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Gives presentations and training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Additionally, Patient Safety Specialist tests patient-safety knowledge of employees and recommends changes to training programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. JOB SUMMARY:
A Patient Safety Sitter is used to assist in keep a patient safe when a patient is at risk of harming themselves by pulling lines, falling, wandering and other behaviors.
A Patient Safety Sitter is responsible for continuous monitoring of the patient closely at the bedside at all times and never be leaving the patient alone.
The Patient Safety Sitter may intervene by assisting the patient to toilet, ambulate, reposition or prevent the patient from pulling on lines.
Various shifts - Days, Evenings and Nights.
