Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry best practices - Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions - Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention - Provide training and educational programs on safety topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) - Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness - Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data - Stay up-to-date with changes in safety regulations and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement Skills: - In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation laws - Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and root cause analysis - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and delivering training programs - Proficiency in developing training materials and delivering engaging presentations - First aid/CPR certification - Experience in fabricating safety equipment or implementing engineering controls is a plus - Familiarity with environmental health and safety (EHS) standards We offer competitive compensation packages including benefits such as medical insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, etc. Join our team of dedicated professionals committed to creating a safe work environment.
