Patient Safety Specialist assists in the development and implementation of patient safety programs. Gathers data detailing patient-related errors and conducts analysis for management detailing the cause of the error. Being a Patient Safety Specialist recommends changes, policies, or programs that could prevent future errors. Gives presentations and training programs meant to increase awareness of patient safety initiatives. Additionally, Patient Safety Specialist tests patient-safety knowledge of employees and recommends changes to training programs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Patient Safety Specialist contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Public Safety Specialist

  • What You Will Be Doing

    · Ensuring the safety of both guests and employees is the highest priority.

    · Work with the Public Safety team to review all safety operating policies and procedures on a continuous basis to ensure safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

    · Assist with the yearly review and implementation of the Safety Awareness, Safety Reference, and Emergency Response Procedures Manuals.

    · Conduct safety investigations to determine root cause of guest and employee incidents.

    · Assist with claims reporting and investigating. Maintain files on potential claims, active claims, and lawsuits.

    · Act as a liaison with local emergency response agencies.

    · Ensure OSHA compliance, including full and accurate documentation.

    · Supervise all activities relating to life safety and protection from fire, including inspections of fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, valves, and alarm systems. Perform periodic and regular property inspections (Rides, Grounds, Buildings, etc.)

    · Assist with monthly Safety Committee meetings as assigned.

    · Maintain all records of certificates of insurance for any outside vendors working on property.

    · Ensure that safety training is implemented properly across all departments and training documentation is complete.

    · Perform audits and safety meetings as assigned per shift.

    · Interpret and enforce all park and corporate policies.

    · Respond to guest comments and resolve guest concerns in a friendly, non-offensive manner.

    · Assists with deployment and management/operation of CCTV systems

    · Perform other duties appropriate to the area of responsibility as deemed necessary by the Public Safety Supervisors and/or Manager.

    What You Will Need

    · Must be at least 18 years old.

    · Appreciation for the serious and safety critical nature of the responsibilities inherent in the job.

    · For safety purposes, must be able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.

    · Proven organization and time management skills.

    · Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of written and oral instructions.

    · Strong communication skills, to include:

    • Ability to write reports.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leadership, employees, guests, and the general public.
    • Ability to establish effective professional relationships with employees and park leadership

    · New York Security Guard License desired, but not required at hire.

    · Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and a six-day workweek, as required.

    · Must be able to sit and/stand/or walk for long periods of time throughout the day.

    · Requires manual and bi-manual dexterity, fine and gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing and speech.

    · Requires occasional kneeling and bending.

    · Requires occasional walking, reaching above shoulder, pushing and pulling.

    · Requires occasional lifts and carries up to 60 pounds.

    · Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level is generally moderate to high.
