We are seeking candidates for an Occupational, Health and Safety Specialist, to work out of our Hightstown, NJ location. Travel to job sites is required. This is a full-time, associate level position that is expected to become an integral part of our organization. An identical internship position is also available.
Responsibilities:
The OHS Specialist will be responsible for writing regulatory reports and programs and compiling regulatory documents. Additionally, the OHS Specialist will be visiting client facilities to review operations for OSHA, NFPA and USEPA compliance. The OHS Specialist will audit and identify areas of non-conformance, explain the non-conformance to the client, and work cooperatively with the client and fellow team members on abatement. Working in industrial facilities is an essential component of this work.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science field, with special consideration to those with an EHS or OHS degree
Experience in a safety, industrial health, or environmental compliance role, with excellent knowledge of OSHA and occupational safety (internships are acceptable)
Capable of conducting Training on OSHA General Industry requirements
Top-notch writing skills for reports and compliance programs
Independent learner who is willing to participate in all aspects of the business
Understanding of confidentiality and its importance
Outstanding communication skills
Ability to exercise good judgement
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of industrial hygiene sampling principles
40-hour HAZWOPER training
Prior exposure to manufacturing and/or chemical distribution industry
Knowledge of environmental permitting and regulations
Knowledge of management systems, such as ISO 9001/14000, RCMS and/or Responsible Distribution
