    F&S Fresh Foods is actively seeking a Bilingual Safety Specialist to support our production facility in Vineland, NJ. The Safety Specialist works with and reports to the Safety Manager, serving as a crucial point of contact responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our safety program. 

      

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Safe Work Program Reinforcement and Compliance: Assist in implementing and reinforcing safe work programs by promoting compliance with established safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. Actively engage with production employees to ensure understanding and adherence to safety protocols.
    2. Safety Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance issues. Work with departments to address and resolve these issues. Document observations, findings, and corrective actions, and report them to the Safety Manager.
    3. Incident Reporting: Facilitate the timely reporting of workplace incidents, injuries, near misses, and hazards. Assist in conducting investigations and root cause analysis as necessary.
    4. Training and Education: Assist in developing and delivering safety training programs for employees, focusing on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
    5. Emergency Response: Support the implementation of emergency response plans and procedures. Lead by example with drills and exercises to ensure employees are prepared for emergencies.
    6. Safety Communication: Act as a liaison between employees and management, promoting open communication regarding safety concerns, suggestions, and feedback. Provide translation support for safety-related materials, meetings, and communications to ensure effective communication with non-English-speaking employees.
    7. Safety Data Management: Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, training, inspections, and other safety-related data. Generate reports for management and regulatory agencies as needed.
    8. Safety Committee: Participate in safety committee meetings, helping to prioritize and address safety issues and initiatives.

    Success Competencies:

    • Technical Expertise: 3-5 years of technical safety experience in a manufacturing environment or related field required. Strong understanding of safety regulations including OSHA, DOT, DEP, and EPA.
    • Analytical Skills: Be curious and able to analyze information to get to the root cause of problems.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Must have strong interpersonal skills capable of building and maintaining relationships with all levels of personnel.
    • Communication Skills: Fluent in both English and Spanish (written and spoken). Effective oral and written communication skills including the ability to present ideas, facts, and recommendations effectively.
    • Organizational Skills: Well-developed organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to manage projects to ensure effective implementation.
    • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and willingness to learn and adapt to changing safety protocols and procedures.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of technical safety experience in a manufacturing environment or related field required.
    • Experience developing and executing safety standards, education and training programs, and Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Current safety training and applicable certifications (OSHA 10 & 30 Hour)
    • MUST be Bilingual – Spanish/English
    • Must be a US citizen.

    This position may require occasional bending, stooping, lifting, and extended periods of time on your feet.


    Work Environment:

    The Bilingual Safety Specialist will primarily work on the production floor, where they will be exposed to various manufacturing processes and conditions. Some office time may be required for meetings and administrative tasks. Appropriate safety equipment and training will be provided.
