    PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, Washington is seeking a Transporter - Patient Transport for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Variable position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $18.02 – $27.16. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

    This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

    Details about the position:


    • This position is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of patients, supplies, specimens and equipment through the facility.
    • Transport patients by schedule and on request utilizing escort or wheeled transport equipment.
    • Transport materials such as supplies, specimens, records, linen, trash, confidential documents and equipment.
    • May be responsible for conference room set-up including equipment and patient care equipment transfers.
    • May clean wheeled transport equipment as needed.
    • Includes holiday rotation.
    • This per diem/as needed position will have an orientation period in which the caregiver will initially be scheduled full time during the day shift for the first two weeks.

    What you bring:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Entry level position. Prior patient care experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs required
    • Good customer service skills and interpersonal skills required.
    • Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required upon hire.
