Patient Transporter transports patients to and from their inpatient beds and other areas like therapy, surgery or radiology. Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Provides transportation of families and individuals involved with the Residential Recovery program to medical and/or mental health appointments.
1. Transports clients to appointments as needed in the community.
2. Assures availability of materials and supplies and insures the provision of a clean and safe environment for clients, families, and staff.
3. Documents each request for transportation on the Transportation Record Form in the client electronic health record in a timely manner.
