Patient Transporter transports patients to and from their inpatient beds and other areas like therapy, surgery or radiology. Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Patient Transporter primarily works varied weekday hours between 6a - 6p based on person served transport needs, a minimum of 32 up to 40 total hours per week, supporting our Ankeny Inpatient and Polk City Inpatient programs. On rare occasions, out of town appointments may require hours outside of 6a - 6p. There are no weekend or holiday expectations. You will have a general idea of your schedule for each week, but some flexibility is required for last minute changes.
Our Patient Transporter positions start at $18/hour for minimum/no experience. We pay a 9% differential on your experienced-based base wage for all hours worked between 2pm and 10pm, and 11% for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your anniversary. This full-time position is eligible for subsidized health and dental insurance, vision insurance, free life and long-term disability insurance, a 401k match, PTO and long-term sick pay, and other benefits.
