    The Outreach Coordinator/Transporter plays a vital role in our organization's community engagement efforts. Under the direction of the Community & Social Services Director, this position is responsible for coordinating and planning events, possessing extensive knowledge of local resources such as TANF(Temporary Assistance for Needy Families), Medicare, and other social services. The incumbent will assist with mail outs and ensure timely delivery of supplies required for various outreach activities. Additionally, the Outreach Coordinator/Transporter will showcase their creative skills through graphic design to craft flyers and calendars that effectively promote our initiatives. As a Transporter, they will also provide assistance with meals on wheels, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of meals to those in need.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and plan events to engage with the community effectively.
    • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of local resources, including TANF, Medicare, and other relevant services, to assist community members adequately.
    • Assist with mail outs to reach out to a wider audience and keep them informed about our outreach activities.
    • Transports Native patients to various locations according to established policies and procedures.
    • Order necessary supplies for various outreach events and activities to ensure their smooth execution.
    • Utilize graphic design skills to create visually appealing flyers and calendars that effectively communicate our initiatives and events.
    • Safely transport meals on wheels to provide essential support to those who require meal assistance.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Proficiency in graphic design and familiarity with relevant software tools.
    • Knowledge of local resources and social services like TANF, Alzheimer's, Medicare, etc.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively engage with the community.
    • Ability to work well with a team and independently.
    • Must have a valid and unrestricted CA Driver License.
    • Must obtain DMV clearance through the Chumash Enterprise’s Risk Management Department.
    • Empathy and compassion for those in need.
    • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Knowledge of Chumash Culture.
    • Native American hiring preference applies.
