Patient Transporter transports patients to and from their inpatient beds and other areas like therapy, surgery or radiology. Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. What will you do:
Transports patients, beds and other items as necessary between various locations within the hospital. Assist clinicians in the lifting of patients. Performs delegated duties in assisting with the care of the patient. Is responsible for designated equipment and supplies used in the care of assigned patients. Cleans equipment and reports broken equipment in need of repair. Duties are executed with a sense of urgency and in alignment with our operational output metrics of Quality & Safety, Experience, and Efficiency.
What will you need:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Prior experience taking care of patients and/or dealing with the public
Current AHA BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare provider) required within three (3) months of hire
