Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. POSITION SUMMARY
As directed by a licensed nurse, the Patient Safety Observer appropriately maintains patients per observation level, accurately documenting per observation log and maintains additional inventory logbooks on the unit, per protocol.
The tech responsibilities include sitting with patients, transportation of patients to other departments when necessary.
When not sitting, the Patient Safety Observer is also responsible for providing basic nursing care such as bathing, linen changes, toileting and feeding if needed and responsible for simple procedures and tasks as assigned, such as routine vital signs, emptying foleys, drains, etc.
