JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director and Manager of Radiology, this position is responsible for patient transportation to and from all departments throughout the hospital. This position maintains the safety and cleanliness of all patient transport equipment and assists with other related duties.

Safely and efficiently transports patients to and from all departments throughout the hospital.
Signs patient's in/out of the nursing units during patient transfers. Brings medical record and MAR. Assures order verification.
Assures STAT reports are properly charted and verbally communicated to proper personnel.
Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment needed in transport and patient care (i.e., O2, IV's). Assures all O2 tanks properly stored and filled. Maintains accurate O2 levels during transport of patient.
Delivers items such as supplies, equipment, requisitions and specimens to the appropriate person/department.
Prepares and transports deceased patients to the morgue.
Equipment wiped down to start the day. Responsible for cleaning transport equipment after each use.
Assists with telephone duties, utilizing proper hospital telephone etiquette. Promptly answers all calls/pages.
Confirms patient identification according to hospital and department protocols. Utilizes hand-off communication forms on pick-up and return of Replenishes blanket warmer.
Maintains clear hallways. (trash removal, etc.) Keep room/work stations neat, orderly.
Assures magnetic safety form is filled out before transport to MRI.
Follows proper guidelines for handling/transporting isolation patients.
Assists technical personnel and radiologists by performing a variety of duties for patients and certain heavy duties in the care of physically and/or *Willingly performs other related duties outside immediate work area as assigned or required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE MANDATORY:
CPR certification required
