Other responsibilities include retrieving medical records, lab results, supplies and medications. Being a Patient Transporter may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Patient Transporter typically reports to a supervisor. The Patient Transporter may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Requirements

    EDUCATION : High School or equivalent required.

    CERTIFICATION / LICENSES : Basic Life Support (BLS) issued through American Heart Association required, or must be attained within two weeks of employment.

    SKILLS :

    • Ability to learn to use the following : WheelchairsGurneyselectric bedscell phonesdigital pagers
    • Effective human relations skills
    • Ability to retain composure under stress, to move quickly but effectively to meet patient care needs
    • Time management skills to manage a high volume of assignments as expeditiously as possible

    EXPERIENCE : Prior related work experience in medical environment preferred.

    NATURE OF SUPERVISION :

    Responsible to : Manager, Radiology

    ENVIRONMENT :

    Bloodborne Pathogen C

    Appropriate universal precautions protection must be used at all times

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :

    Subject to stressful professional relationships. Working hours vary, with flexibility needed to meet unexpected changes in schedule and emergencies.

    Stooping / Bending : frequently, Squatting / Crouching : occasionally, Crawling / Kneeling : occasionally, Manual dexterity : continuously, Standing : occasionally, Walking : continuously, Lifting / Pushing / Pulling : Frequently up to 100 lbs.

    Carrying : Occasionally up to 100 lbs.
