    CLOSING DATE: April 5, 2024

    POSITION: Courier/Driver

    SALARY: $17.25- $18.75 DOE

    REPORTS TO: Director of Nursing

    LOCATION: Colville Tribal Convalescent Center, Nespelem, WA 

    Basic Functions: Incumbent is responsible for transporting residents to and from provider appointments, and activity outings.  Will also answer phones, schedule resident appointments, maintain the transport calendar, and other clerical ward clerk duties when not transporting residents.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Training: 

    • Requires a High School Diploma or GED
    • Nursing Assistant experience preferred but not required
    • Requires possession of  CPR/First Aid certification or ability to acquire within 30 days of hire.
    • Requires a valid Washington State Driver's license and to be eligible for the Tribe's vehicle insurance
    • Requires demonstrating a safe driving record

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Requires knowledge of a long term care setting.
    • Requires knowledge of resident rights and reporting of any resident abuse and/or neglect.
    • Requires ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
    • Requires ability to record all activities with residents on flow sheets, notes, and charts, in a clear and concise manner.
    • Requires ability to report all changes in the residents condition, all injuries of unknown origin, and all accidents/incidents observed on shift to the nurse supervisor/floor nurse immediately.
    • Requires ability to insure residents are properly positioned and secured for safety using seat belts and wheelchair belts. 
    • Requires ability to insure all applicable medical records and/or transfer materials accompany the resident to appointments.
    • Requires ability to insure all paperwork associated with travel such as mileage forms, logs, insurance, and vehicle registrations are completed.
    • Requires ability to clean up vehicles when not in use.
    • Requires ability to make independent decisions.
    • Requires ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet as well as the ability to push, pull, move, and/or carry said weight a minimum of fifty (50) feet. 

    Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

     

    TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.

     

    If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance.  In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances.  If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
