Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator jobs in Bridgeport, CT
Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator operates a mechanical machine to lay gravel, stone, and cold-mix asphalt on road surfaces. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for the construction of large residential and commercial projects throughout Connecticut. The right applicant will be able to safely and productively operate site excavation equipment including but not limited to excavators, loaders, dozers and site trucks.
Requirements:
- Positive Attitude
- Ability to work year round
- Experience with basic construction layout
- P6 or P7 License
- Experience with earthmoving
- Experience with installation & repair of water mains, sewer systems (sanitary & storm) and
- Experience with foundation excavations
- Experience with basic construction layout
- Experience with pipe & rotary lasers
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen, Driving Record & Background Check
- OSHA 10
- Class A License
- Legal working Status
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
Job Type: Full-time predominately prevailing wage projects
