Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator operates a mechanical machine to lay gravel, stone, and cold-mix asphalt on road surfaces. Being a Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Paving, Surfacing, and Tamping Equipment Operator performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Duties, Responsibilities, & Requirements
- Work as an integral member of a team to install hot mix asphalt using hand tools and heavy equipment such as lutes, rollers, skid steers, and pavers.
- Comply with safety rules & work in a safe manner.
- Adhere to quality standards.
- Assist with routine daily equipment maintenance & clean-up.
- Show up to work on time & on a regular basis.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to work effectively with others as a member of a team.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy loads, climb ladders, and perform manual labor tasks.
- Good work ethic.
- Prior paving experience preferred, but not required.
