Halifax Paving, family-owned and operated since 1955, has a proven track record of providing high-quality asphalt and site work services in the Northeast and Central Florida areas. We are currently seeking an experienced Asphalt Paver Operator to join our team.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Asphalt Paver operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt paver to spread and level hot mix paving material smoothly and consistently to roads, parking lots, airport runways, and more.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate the paver in a straight line.
• Run the paver at the proper speed.
• With the assistance of the dump man, ensure material uniformly flows into the hopper to avoid segregation.
• Monitor material in the Hopper.
• When the paver is not in operation, assist paving crew members with whatever tasks are required to complete the project.
• Ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of the paver after each shift.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working on a paver/and or with a paving crew.
• Must be able to maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities occurring at the site, including the activities of other employees and contractors, the operation of stationary equipment, and the movement of mobile equipment.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
• Be willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions; communicate with supervisors, co-workers and the public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
• Ability to work in a team setting.
• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
