Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for analysis of denied reimbursement claims. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage for compliance standards and revenue generation. Being a Payment Recovery Specialist monitors, evaluates, and reviews all cost reporting in support of claims. Coordinates with departments and insurance companies to correct errors as necessary. Additionally, Payment Recovery Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Payment Recovery Specialist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     POSITION SUMMARY : The Business Services Payment Posting Specialist is responsible for posting all daily payments received by Prairie Ridge Health, Inc.

    The Payment Posting Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and timely accounting of incoming and outgoing payments for departmental and payer lockboxes and revenue accounts.

    Duties include preparation, processing, posting, and reconciling source documents. This staff member will be responsible for accurately posting insurance remittances as well as various other cash related duties.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS / LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION / REGISTRATION High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with health insurance and reading EOB’s Understanding of insurance terminology.

    Understanding and knowledge of basic accounting principles. Understanding of insurance terminology. Must possess the ability to work both independently as well as a part of a team.

    Basic keyboarding, 10 key calculator skills, word processing and e-mail skills; the ability to create simple forms, tables, professional memos and e-mails.

    Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel. This includes the ability to create daily and monthly logs and summary reports, insert simple formulas and manipulate the design and appearance of worksheets.
