Payment Recovery Specialist is responsible for analysis of denied reimbursement claims. Ensures appropriate insurance coverage for compliance standards and revenue generation. Being a Payment Recovery Specialist monitors, evaluates, and reviews all cost reporting in support of claims. Coordinates with departments and insurance companies to correct errors as necessary.   • The Recovery Outreach Specialist position is responsible for providing information and walkthrough of social services to assist individuals in active substance use access basic needs services, harm reduction, and recovery support.

    Qualified applicants should have a Recovery Coach certification from the Connecticut Community For Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Recovery Coach Academy, Advocacy Unlimited Inc. Recovery Support Specialist Training and Certification program, or equivalent program and certification. Service support includes individual follow-up with people post-overdose, general community outreach, and continuing education in the recovery/social services field. This is a grant-funded position contingent on ongoing funding (currently 4 years available). Hours are part-time up to 25 hours per week.

    Job Expectations:

    • Make at least three (3) attempts in-person or via phone to assist the person and/or their family with connections to resources for each referral (including past referrals that declined assistance if/when re-referred)
    • Educate about opioid use-disorder, MAT, and related recovery/treatment options, making connections and referrals to providers as needed/requested
    • Assist referrals with basic needs as appropriate including calling 211 for housing, mental health and addiction resources; applying for benefits and insurance through state programs (SNAP, HUSKY, Section 8, etc.) as needed/requested and/or provide warm hand-off to clinicians and case managers at behavioral health/treatment centers to receive these services
    • Keep case notes on each referral including dates contacted, assistance offered, declined and accepted
    • Work with Step Up Naugy executive team to plan and implement prevention, education and training events, including, but not limited to, the following: adult community prevention education and Narcan training events; meeting with, providing training, education and Narcan to local businesses and employees (bars, restaurants, construction and manual labor companies); drug take-back days; youth programs
    • Attend training and education events aimed at prevention and harm reduction

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree or higher in social services or related field preferred
    • Peer recovery certification from CCAR or other recognized program required

    Job Type: Part-time

    Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour

    Expected hours: No more than 25 per week
