Role: |
|
To preserve the credit union's assets by controlling recovery efforts, garnishments, levy’s, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral. |
|
Essential Functions & Responsibilities: |
| E | 60% | Handles all credit union post charge off recovery efforts and assigns them to our 3rd party vendor for tracking purposes to protect the member and the credit union. |
| E | 20% | Maintains accurate files and reports on all recovery, garnishments, and levies in the collection’s module. |
| E | 10% | Prepares invoice documents from 3rd party vendor and documents accounts in the collection’s module. |
| E | 5% | Informs management of trends in delinquent/charged-off loans. |
| E | 5% | Assists employees with member problems and performs other duties as assigned. |

Performance Measurements: |
| 1. | To maximize and control the recovery efforts of the credit union assets from delinquent loans. |
| 2. | To maintain accurate and complete records of all recovery and invoice activity. |
| 3. | To ensure that collection activity is both within credit union policy and all relevant regulations. |
| 4. | To identify and inform management of potential recovery and invoice problems. |
| 5. | To offer/provide assistance in setting up a budget for the member for post charge off accounts. |
| 6. | To stay current and comply with all federal and state regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and all credit union policies and procedures. |

Knowledge and Skills: |
|
Experience | One year to three years of similar or related experience. |
|
|
Education | A high school education or GED. |
|
|
Interpersonal Skills | Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. |

|
Other Skills | Communication skills, both verbal & written. Good judgement and analytical skills. |
