Optim Orthopedics is seeking full time Refund/AR Payment Posting Specialist for our Savannah location.

Job Requirements:

• Read and interpret Explanation of Benefit statements and identify proper adjustments.
• Ensures all Medicare refund requests are worked and resolved within 60-day limits.
• A/R follow up on recoupments by insurance companies.
• Research account recoupment was made from and place notes accordingly with details.
• Audit accounts to determine if credit is correct and take appropriate action to rectify the account.
• Analyze information gathered through investigation, and provide recommendations for action.
• Refunds insurance companies on accurately overpaid claims timely.
• Correspond over the phone and via e-mail with agents and claimants to correct errors or omissions and to investigate questionable claims.
• Identify potential problems with current processes and practices to offer suggestions for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with Company policies as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies.
• Maintains up to date guidelines on payor recoupment processes.
• Refunds researched should be 60-80 transactions per day.
• Ensures Government refunds are done within 60 days of identification and commercial payors are refunded according to contract guidelines.
• Ensures that credit balances as a percentage of AR is less than 2%.
• Process weekly refund checks, mail and upload files
• Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policy.
• Sort & distribute mail, fax requirements for remote staff
• Weekly deposit
• Legal correspondence, process bankruptcy
• Assist with end of month worklists
• Assists with projects as needed
