Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Reviews the computation of pay and associated deductions for accuracy. Being a Payroll Administrator maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Prepares required tax filings and other reporting. Additionally, Payroll Administrator may coordinate payroll processing with an outside service provider. Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly. May require an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Administrator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Closets by Design Boston is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team in Shirley, Massachusetts. As a member of the Human Resources department, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for all employees. .
Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees in the Boston franchise location accurately and timely
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure data integrity
- Calculate and process payroll deductions and withholdings
- Review and reconcile payroll reports for accuracy and discrepancies
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide support on payroll-related matters
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll tax laws
- Collaborate with Human Resources and other departments to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll
- Participate in payroll system upgrades and implementations
- Develop and maintain payroll policies and procedures
- Assist with audits and other payroll-related projects as needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Human Resources preferred
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing and administration
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of payroll systems (Paylocity preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
