Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision. Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk/Admin to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for accurately processing payroll for our employees and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and payroll processes, as well as excellent attention to detail.
Duties:
- Data entry of timecards
- Maintain employee records and update changes in employment status, tax withholding, and other relevant information
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees in a timely manner
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including pay discrepancies and tax-related questions
- Collaborate with HR department to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any discrepancies
- Assist in the preparation of payroll reports, including tax filings, wage statements, and other required documentation
- Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve any discrepancies or errors
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information and adhere to all privacy regulations
Requirements:
- Experience with Foundations (plus) or similar payroll software
- Proven experience as a Payroll Clerk or similar role
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, including calculating wages, tool deductions, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
