May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Corporate office with great working environment looking to hire a Full Time / Payroll Clerk to join our team.
Required Qualifications
· 6-9 years of experience in a payroll position working with payroll and benefits.
· BS in Human Resources/Business Administration/Accounting preferred.
· Strong computer skills using MS Word, Excel, Internet, integrated/automated payroll systems and portals.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion and integrity.
· Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy around complex data.
· Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure in an evolving environment.
· Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible, independently motivated, self-starter.
· Communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey express oneself, exchange information and ideas so others will understand.
· Exchange accurate information verbally and in writing.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Process weekly payroll accurately on a timely basis.
· Review time system for adherence to payroll policies and procedures.
· Calculate and process miscellaneous pay requests, deduction changes, employment actions, including rate changes, new hires, transfers, promotions and terminations.
· Resolves discrepancies and errors as required.
· Communicate effectively with all personnel.
· Provide excellent customer service to personnel by responding to general inquiries regarding payroll and benefits information.
· Answer all income inquires and verifications with accuracy in a timely manner.
· Compile reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.
· Pay specific accounts as they relate to payroll/benefits.
· Reconcile accounts associated with payroll and benefits monthly.
· Maintain, organize, and prepare for storage personal records and reports.
· Intake, research, and report/respond to Worker’s compensation, Customer Liability and Unemployment Claims.
· Schedule mandatory personnel training/exams.
· Perform annual, W2, OSHA, payroll/401k audit, benefit, and vacation schedule duties.
Other Duties
This personnel member needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. This position requires the operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer. In a number of instances, tasks will blend manual and automated processes.
