As Payroll Clerk, you'll:

• Consistently and accurately process salary and hourly weekly payroll.
• Process hours from timekeeping and attendance system and ensure accuracy of payroll; inputs payroll information/codes following procedures and rules.
• Stay on top of communications for additional check requests.
• Work cooperatively with Human Resources staff to process new employee paperwork, status changes, analyze and review pay changes, and verifying information using discretion and tact in the handling of confidential and sensitive payroll issues.
• Process tax forms and direct deposit information, while ensuring compliance and accuracy of data entry.
• Process wage garnishments and ensure accurate taxation and deductions.
• Pull payroll reports for review and audit purposes with minimal assistance.
• Assist with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Perform special projects as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have 2-3 years of in-house payroll processing experience.
• Must have thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Must have strong analytical thinking skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Basic understanding of journal entries.
• Must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with VLOOKUP formulas, pivot tables, etc is strongly desired.
• Confident written and verbal communication skills and a team player.
• Knowledge of general HR laws/practices preferred.
• Flexible availability with schedule.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) and/or other HRIS preferred.
