POSITION SUMMARY:
The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of employee payroll for assigned facilities, including but not limited to new hire and employee maintenance data entry, pay rate changes, assuring proper approvals are obtained, interfacing with facilities regarding payroll issues and questions, and monitoring compliance with company policy and payroll rules and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enter all employee data necessary for processing timely payroll into the HRIS/Payroll system each week to assure that all applicable deadlines are met.
Assure all hours worked are properly entered into the payroll system either through time clock transmittals or data entry via manual time sheets.
Meet facility payroll deadlines by distributing timely payroll checks and applicable reports to facilities via overnight mail and/or direct deposit.
Interact in a courteous and professional manner with facilities to research payroll related inquiries and respond to questions.
Organize and maintain payroll records and reports in compliance with federal and state regulations and for easy access for auditing purposes.
Assure compliance with all mandated, court ordered deductions and process each within the dictated time frames.
Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information, releasing only on a "need to know" basis to appropriate payroll, human resources, supervisory personnel, or to outside agencies with a signed release from the employee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and REQUIREMENTS:
* High school diploma and 3-5 years of experience processing payroll.
* Proficient data entry skills and proven ability to use electronic data processing equipment and related payroll and financial software applications.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret payroll reports, payroll related technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, individual employees, and outside agencies.
* Ability to calculate figures and apply basic concepts of math.
* Elementary use of computer spreadsheet programs.
