Payroll Clerk prepares and processes payroll and associated information. Collates and verifies data and inputs into the payroll system. Being a Payroll Clerk updates payroll records and processes routine changes to employee records. Performs basic reconciliation and auditing processes during each pay cycle. Additionally, Payroll Clerk responds to pay-related inquiries from staff. Researches and resolves errors or omissions. May prepare and submit reports and forms required by IRS or other regulatory bodies. Follows all processing procedures, adheres to policies, and maintains confidentiality. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Payroll Clerk works under moderate supervision. Job Overview:
We are seeking a Payroll/Administrative Clerk to join the Goetz Concrete team. The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing and possess a general knowledge of accounting principles and a willingness to do a diverse variety of office administrative tasks in a small, yet family freindly environment.
Responsibilities:
- Process weekly Payroll for distribution to employees.
- Process Payroll Liability Payments also on a weekly basis.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Reconcile payroll data, including benefits, taxes, and deductions
- Assist with accounts payable and other office administrative tasks.
- Participate as a key member of our Safety committee.
- Assist with some HR safety and other clerical processes as assigned by the Controller and/or business owner.
- Perform light purchasing activities as assigned
Experience:
- Proven experience with payroll desired, but experience with other office clerical work such as accounts payable and/or billings or collections will be considered.
- Certified/Prevailing Wage Payroll and union fringe reporting experience desirable
- Familiarity with H/R systems and G/L accounting
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and/or related software products
- Experience in a construction or similar project-based field is desirable but not required.
