PAY RATE: $19.08/hr. - $22.54/hr.
POSITION PURPOSE:
Validate employee pay hours to ensure an accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll. Apply pay rules as stated in the ATU and Teamster Labor Contracts, Non-Bargaining handbook and DOL requirements. To understand pay cycle processing and knowledge of ADP Payroll. Assist Payroll Manager as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Use Trapeze software to create file for operator work hours to be transfered to ADP. Validate exceptions using the Attendance, Run & Block Status from the Operations Control Center (OCC), Extra Board Run Assignments and Operator Mark-up. Upload completed file to ADP using the transfer to ADP website.
- Provides requested information for record request.
- Manage garnishment set ups and changes in ADP.
- Assist in reviewing preview check register and making corrections as needed.
- Prepare check requests and backup documentation for payroll deductions paid through Accounts Payable or an ACH deposit.
- Each pay period monitor employees on extended absences or paid return to duty to ensure pay hours or non-paid hours are accurate in ADP timecard.
- Prepare thirteen-week wage statements for Worker's Compensation claims. Maintain payroll worker's compensation documentation. Enter light duty work hours to employee ADP timecard using approved time sheets from the Risk Department.
- Update payroll markup binder for each new markup. Maintain operator run changes and selections during the markup period.
- Prepare payroll off-cycle checks.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding their paychecks, leave accrual balances, deductions, and other payroll related matters.
- Prepare Monthly Transparency report for the Finance division.
- Prepare and submit the employee count monthly to the US Department of Labor Statistics.
- Assume responsibilities of the Payroll Manager during absences.
- Assist in preparing payroll records for annual audit.
- Enter miscellaneous payroll corrections and changes in ADP.
- Interact with ADP to address/resolve any ongoing or current payroll issues.
- Consults and coordinates with appropriate department resolving payroll related problems. Reviews bargaining contracts and non-bargaining policies for payroll clarification. Research previous application and assists management instituting new procedures and practices for bargaining and non-bargaining units.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma
- One to three years of field related experience.
- One year of ADP experience preferred
Machines, Tools, & Equipment Used:
- Ability to operate small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems, as well as a computer for both data entry, word processing, and/or accounting purposes.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Florida Driver's License or be able to obtain one within in 10 days of hire or moving to the State of Florida.

- Bargaining unit contracts, non-bargaining unit policies and procedures, wage/salary laws and regulations, 125 Plan, Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Worker's Compensation payroll procedures.
- ADP software.
- Payroll process flow.
- Time pay codes and time conversion.
- Vacation and Sick Accrual Balance.
- Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment.
- Ability to determine own approach for completing work, given general guidelines.
- Ability to perform work that necessitates some specialized knowledge of clerical or trades-based tasks. Some of the typical responsibilities include gathering, formatting, or visually analyzing data.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment. Incumbent may sometimes be exposed to rude or irate individuals.
