PAYROLL COORDINATOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following:
• Process and oversee payroll data in payroll software, audit wages and deductions and create job cost and general ledger journal entries to post payroll records in accounting software
• Manage the time tracking software and process, review all tracked data, resolve any questionable entries with supervisors and educate/re-educate new and existing users
• Manage payroll-related garnishments in payroll software
• Work with the Human Resources Department on benefit deductions, benefit catch-up payments and all other payroll-related data
• File and distribute month-end reports; post all entries in a timely fashion
• Perform various accounts payable functions, which may include processing of invoices, refunds and rebates; issuing checks; credit card payment processing transactions; and other procedures
• Perform general ledger functions, review and analyze financial information and help prepare financial statements and other reports
• Answer general accounting questions regarding general ledger, payroll and payables
• Review trial balances for trend and value anomalies, missing information and misclassified transactions and take follow-up action
• Work independently on special projects as assigned, effectively prioritizing workload and deadlines
• Maintain year-end schedules

Payroll Coordinator Qualifications include the following:
• High school diploma required
• Accreditations of either Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or equivalent combination of education and experience required
• Associate degree in accounting or accounting-related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience, preferably using the Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) software system, including Workforce Management, UKG Pro and Business Intelligence, required
• Prior experience working with accounts payable processes
• Prior experience creating accounting-related processes and procedures
