Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Description

    St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Everett, WA is searching for a Supervisor of Facilities and Maintenance. The person in this role ensures the facilities of our Church, School, Mission, owned properties and campuses are safe and well maintained. They will perform minor repairs when needed, oversee all construction projects, and manage maintenance, grounds, custodial staff and volunteers. This is a full-time position with benefits.     Major Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Represents the parish when dealing with outside contractors in all major maintenance, construction and renovation projects.  Identifies outside contractors, vendors and service providers and negotiates contracts.
    2. Purchases supplies and equipment from vendors.  Ensures the maintenance of an inventory of cleaning, supplies and equipment and reorders as appropriate.
    3. Attends safety programs for St. Mary Magdalen parish and school and ensures campus is secure when not in use. 
    4. Supervises maintenance, grounds and janitorial staff and volunteers.  Establishes work priorities and provides training and work direction as needed.  Performs minor and preventive maintenance as necessary. Assures that heating units are in proper working order. 
    5. Oversees preventative maintenance to buildings and grounds to minimize plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and heating system failures.
    6. Coordinates energy management systems.
    7. Assures the parish grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner.  
    8. Coordinates set up for special Parish events (e. g. chairs, tables and other event requirements).  Assures necessary facilities-related support for programs and special events.  
    9. Serves as a lead member of Parish Maintenance & Safety Committees.  Along with committee, implements annual and long-range work plans regarding plant operations and maintenance.
    10. Collaborates with pastor and administrative staff on the preparation and administration of annual operating and capital budgets.
    11. Assures maintenance of equipment owned by the parish and school.  Directs the preparation and upkeep of asset inventory.
    12. Coordinates the sale or disposal of surplus equipment.
    13. Available on-call for emergencies.
    14. Maintains current resources and vendors to respond to emergencies.
    15. Communicates daily with supervisor.
    16. Participates in staff meetings and retreats.
    17. Performs other duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications


    College degree preferred but not required.

    Demonstrated history of maintenance/facilities/groundskeeping work. 

    5 Plus years of supervision and management

    Ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage time effectively.

    Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both supervisor, other staff/volunteers and vendors.
