Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Job Essential Responsibilities:
· Execute day-to-day payroll operations, managing weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly client payrolls across multiple states.
· Navigate intricacies such as wage garnishments and payroll deductions with meticulous attention to detail.
· Collaborate with clients and their business partners to define, establish, and optimize payroll processes and procedures.
· Implement controls to ensure a well-mitigated risk environment for the client.
· Assist with implementation of new payroll clients as needed, ensuring a smooth transition and optimal integration into existing systems.
· Conduct routine audits and analyses of client payrolls, ensuring continuous accuracy and proactively contributing to the evolution of processes.
· Address client requests with flexibility and responsiveness, showcasing a commitment to client satisfaction.
· Provide input to Payroll Manager to continually help refine comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes, ensuring a structured framework for consistency and excellence.
· Work alongside, assist, and provide training to fellow colleagues on payroll principles and client-specific processes, fostering a culture of shared expertise.
Experience:
· 3 years of hands-on experience in a Payroll role a strong plus.
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar field is a bonus.
· Strong working knowledge of payroll policies, federal and state labor compliance, and overtime laws in multiple states.
· General understanding of accounting principles.
· Highly proficient in using payroll software.
· Ability to work in multiple payroll systems in conjunction with one another.
· High level of accuracy with minimal errors in all work.
· Ability to work closely with internal and external individuals in a professional manner.
· Ability to work in an environment of continuous process improvement.
· Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks at a time with minimal supervision.
