Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     The Payroll Clerk will be required to support the Payroll department in a variety of duties, including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution, and providing statements to various departments.
    Responsibilities:
    • Reviews driver settlements containing all of the drivers' trips and pay rates.
    • Verifies route lines, per diems, and rates of pay.
    • Enters local driver hours and pay in computer.
    • Enters driver orientation pay in system.
    • Enters direct deposits in computer.
    • Prints trial settlements.
    • Prints General Ledger reports.
    • Communicates with Fleet Supervisors and drivers to settle any discrepancies or misunderstandings.
    • Stores driver settlement records for specified times.
    • Includes vouchers, check or non-negotiable check stub, and other attachments with settlement and sends to driver.
    • Reviews wages computed and corrects errors to ensure accuracy of payroll.
    • Creates and updates driver lists.
    • Verifies confirmations of delivery; charges driver for service failure if there is no signature.
    • Sends driver settlements to appropriate locations.
    • Verifies that cash advances and reimbursements coincide with one another.
    • Maintains driver attachment notebook.
    • Researches driver pay history.
    • Prints and files Owner/Operator check reports.
    • Prepares and issues paychecks and non-negotiable pay stubs.
    • Verifies that driver checks, pay stubs, and settlements were sent.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
    • Bilingual proficient in both English & Spanish language (Required).
    • Knowledge of accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
    • Strong time management and organizational skills.
    • High degree of attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
