Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Here's what you'll do day-to-day:

    • Retrieves payroll information from clients, by phone, fax, email and other means, prepares reports for client's review, and processes requests in a timely manner.
    • Updates any company and employee information for our clients such as deductions, earnings, salary, direct deposits, etc. requested by client
    • Required to be phone back up for the Tier II team when needed and through utilizing Zendesk Talk.
    • Understand Garnishments and be able to explain our procedures for our team of specialists to input.
    • Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures, reporting suggested changes.
    • Contributes to team efforts to meet phone and ticket metrics and SLA's - completing on average 20 requests per day.
    • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgement and discretion.
    • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Guides clients in employee lock outs and completes new client user set ups.
    • Performs additional duties as required, including special projects and audits.
