Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Pay Rate: $26 - $28 hour
Role Purpose:
This position is responsible for reviewing, processing and identifying all payroll controls, operating procedures and performance management indexes. Employee is responsible for facilitating and recommending solutions to problems relating to late processing of payroll documents resulting in incorrect payment of wages. Work is performed as a part of a quality assurance program within Payroll to ensure consistent accuracy at a high level when calculating and entering time into the Time/Attendance Systems and prepare adjustments for entry into the Payroll Processing System.
Employee has the responsibility and authority to review prospective employee data, analyze and evaluate employee pay records with the personnel/payroll systems. Reviews work for technical adequacy, compliance with policies and procedures and follow-up for corrective actions and problem solutions. Employee also serves as one of the primary point of contacts with offices raising issues relating to pay discrepancies. This position requires professional, technical, administrative, analytical and confidential work of a complex nature.
