Payroll Director directs all aspects of payroll processing operations. Establishes and oversees payroll processes and procedures for routine processing, tax reporting and internal financial requirements. Being a Payroll Director designs short-term and long-term strategies to achieve continuous improvement and efficiencies in payroll processing and delivery operations. Keeps stakeholders informed about the status of payroll laws and regulations and develops implementation plans for required changes to operations. Additionally, Payroll Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Payroll Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Payroll Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     This position will be responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, and the general public. Additionally, you will assist the accounting department as needed in this position.

    Requirements

    • Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
    • 3 years related experience and training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook
    • Experience with Payroll Software (Paycom a plus) 
    • Detail oriented
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Thorough knowledge and understanding of payroll and tax laws is required
