Payroll Manager

Western States Fire Protection is seeking a Payroll Manager to join its accounting team at the Corporate headquarters in Centennial, CO. Western States Fire Protection is a full-service fire protection contractor with 46 locations west of the Mississippi. With over $600 million in annual revenue and 2,000 employees, Western States Fire Protection is one of the largest, most respected providers of fire protection systems and services in the industry. The salary range for this position is $85K-$115K per year depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead payroll team and be main point of contact for the department.
• Train new employees in payroll processes and implement improvements as needed.
• Champion SOX control procedures and audit requests
• Oversee weekly payroll processing (Multi state, roughly 2,000 employees)
• Process Child support and garnishments orders per mandate rules and regulations.
• Keep current on all payroll and hour laws.
• Audit support as needed.
• Employee record maintenance
• Assist teams with Prevailing Wage/Certified Payroll
• Oversee Benefits changes and updates.
• Provide support to our branches and all levels of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Qualifications

• Seven plus years of Payroll experience with management experience
• Team player with a positive attitude that operates well in a small dynamic team environment
• Ability to grasp new technology and software quickly
• Strong communication skills as this position communicates frequently with branch teams
• Ability to be flexible and embrace change
• Construction and/or job costing experience a plus
• Experience with unions is a plus
• Willing to pass a post-offer drug screen, background, and reference check
