GENERAL SUMMARY:
Summary:
Responsible for the organization, direction, regulatory oversight, and administration of the Payroll Department for Bayhealth Medical Center. Responsible for the accuracy of payroll processing and reporting required by local, state and federal regulations. Direct leadership responsibility for the automated timekeeping system and ensuring Bayhealth complies with all wage and hour laws regulations and compliance for time and attendance and payroll systems and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Direct the operational management of the bi-weekly payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll. Resolve problems that arise during each payroll.
2. Direct and monitor the accuracy of the Local, State and Federal payroll reports, ensuring that all deadlines are met and provide statistical information to executive, directors and department managers including for remote workers in employed in various states across the United States
3. Evaluate and audit payroll program specifications for automated timekeeping system and payroll processing system. Provides education and training of leadership and time keepers across the organization to ensure compliance with regulatory and hospital policies.
4. Responsible for implementation and maintenance of timekeeping and payroll systems along with integration with HRIS. Ensure interfaces necessary to operate system are fully operational.
5. Prepare analysis and other financial information as requested by medical center management
6. Meets customer service standards in support of leadership and our team members timely responding to issues and adequately meeting their needs.
7. Ensure audit controls are in place and validated on a regular basis
8. Responsible for the accuracy and processing of the W-2 forms and 1095 forms
9. Provides direct supervision including hiring, training and accountability for the payroll department staff to ensure accurate and timely distribution of paychecks.
10. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.
REQUIRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND CREDENTIAL:
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five years of progressive Payroll supervisory experience in a multi-shift environment with experience in managing remote workers from other states.
Preferred: Experience with Infor.
