Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of payroll processing operations. Ensures accurate calculation of wages and processing of tax withholding and company deductions. Being a Payroll Supervisor prepares statistical reports on employee pay, commissions and bonuses; vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave; taxes, withholding, etc. Oversees the distribution of paychecks and direct deposit programs. Provides training to team on policies, regulations, and processes. Additionally, Payroll Supervisor assists team members with resolving errors or responding to inquiries. May be the first level escalation for complaints or complex error resolution. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Payroll Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Day (United States of America)Under the direction of the Director, System Services Payroll, the Payroll Tax Supervisor will be responsible for entering payroll information, processing payroll tasks, processing Federal, State, and Local taxes, and reconciling all payroll tax files. The Payroll Tax Supervisor is the liaison between 3rd party tax processors, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided to and filings are completed timely.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Oversees all tax information transferred to 3rd party tax processor for all BILH Entities, ensuring accuracy and preparing reconciliation of all files sent for all payroll payment runs.
2. Reviews all 3rd party prepared tax filings, including but not limited to, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of federal, state, and local levels.
3. Responsible for the direct oversight of 3rd parties in processing employee W-2s.
4. Sets up and maintains tax presence in all applicable states and localities adding additional states and localities as needed.
5. Resolves all tax notifications received by federal, state, and local agencies, through coordination with 3rd party tax processors.
6. Provides internal and external auditors with information as requested
7. Assists with the recruitment of colleagues by interviewing candidates and providing feedback to the Director/Manager.
8. Provides training and orientation to new hires
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Bus Admin or similar field preferred, or equivalent experience
Licensure, Certification & Registration: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), preferred
Experience: 5-8 years of related work experience required
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
