POSITION TITLE: Payroll Supervisor
FLSA: Exempt Hire Pay: $48,000 Salary Classification: Full time
JOB SUMMARY: The Payroll Supervisor will oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
• Processes payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
• Maintains or oversees the maintenance of employee records.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identifies and recommends updates to payroll software, systems, and procedures.
• Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from timesheets and other records.
• Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
• Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
• Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Must perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Receives supervision from the CFO. The position has formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority. Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The principal duties of this position are performed in an indoor office environment. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
• 2 years’ experience in payroll processing required with two years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
• Excellent math and numerical skills.
• Experience in data collection, entry, and reporting with great attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Business and Management Principles and Practices.
• Computer ability with working knowledge of relevant software.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
