Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director. Position Qualifications:
Certified or eligible for Board Certification in Psychiatry; Colorado licensed physician required.
Work Schedule and Environment: This position is required to work onsite in Glenwood Springs, CO.
Job Purpose:
Participates and collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to deliver comprehensive psychiatric services. Demonstrates advanced application of psychiatric and pharmacologic knowledge, skills, critical thinking and analysis. Demonstrates leadership by providing perspective in problem solving, decision making, and planning activities to achieve patient outcomes. Consults with staff as necessary to instruct them on clinical interventions necessary for achieving quality patient outcomes.

Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Mind Springs sites. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental disorders. Possible potential for exposure to communicable disease.
