Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.     About the Position

    Lane County Behavioral Health in beautiful Eugene, Oregon is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic adult psychiatrist for its community outpatient clinic. This is the ideal position for the clinician interested in the rewards associated with serving more vulnerable patients through the public mental health system while also achieving an excellent work/life balance. The position involves performing psychiatric assessments, consultations, and follow-up appointments for clients in the general adult and/or forensic clinic while working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Integrated care opportunities with affiliated primary care clinics may also be available.

    *This is a full-time position, although part-time requests will be considered. There is also the flexibility to do some telemedicine work from home, if desired.

    Lane County Behavioral Health provides services to more than 1,600 individuals with behavioral health conditions. We work with community partners to provide a continuum of care from prevention through treatment and aftercare in an environment that promotes a culture of resilience and recovery.

    Training:

    • Graduation from an approved school of medicine with an MD or DO degree, completion of an approved residency program in psychiatry by time of appointment, and board certification as a psychiatrist, or the ability to become board certified within 24 months.

    Special Requirements:

    • Possession of a current State of Oregon license as a Medical Doctor (MD or DO)
    • Board Certification by a recognized national board in Psychiatry or ability to become board certified within 24 months
