Pediatric Psychiatrist jobs in Moline, IL

Pediatric Psychiatrist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders affecting children, adolescents, and their families. Diagnoses disorders, including nature and extent, determines the appropriate course of treatment, and discusses these treatment plans with the child or adolescent and the responsible adults. Being a Pediatric Psychiatrist prescribes medication when necessary. May need to act as an advocate for the best interests of the patient. Additionally, Pediatric Psychiatrist requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Requires a valid state license to practice. May report to a medical director.     How Many Advanced Practice Providers Support Your Group? 2

    How Many Psychologists? Zero, inpatient

    Documentation System/EMR: Cerner

    Trauma Level/Designation III

    Referral/Transfer Protocol: University of Iowa, 40 minutes by car

    Safety/Security Measures in Place: security on each campus

    Required Treatment Disorders: Anxiety Disorders, Affective Disorders, ADD/ADHD, Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Developmental Disorders, Psychotic Disorders, Organic Disorders

    Required to have familiarity with Family Therapy, Restraint Application, Group Therapy, Pharmacotherapy, Seclusion therapy, Voluntary Commitments, ER

    Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60-90 days

    --Board Certified or Board Eligible (with plans to test) in Psychiatry - REQUIRED

    --IA license (or willing to obtain) - REQUIRED

    --Experience in treating patients ages 6 and up - PREFERRED

    Shift:

    M-F, 40 hrs a week

    Weekend Requirements:

    1:3/1:4 weekend

    On Call Requirements:

    Shared Monday-Thursday 1 weekend per month
